Oh my goodness, it just kept getting worse and worse! I have actually had a semi-similar toilet flooding into the kitchen incident, complete with needing to replace the light fixture. Except mine was an overflowed clogged toilet rather than coming off the wall, so that was pretty gross. More recently I actually had to have part of my kitchen ceiling cut open in order to get at the toilet pipes underneath because I had an occasional drip in the window fixture that had cracked the top section of the marble and that needed replacing. It cost a lot more than I particularly wanted to pay, but at least the other changes made during the repair process made the kitchen look better now.
The other dress was this shade of orange that might have looked good on some people, but my sister was just too pale for it. When she wore it, she looked like a jaundiced pumpkin.
Neither of these dresses were a loss. I laughed out really loudly when I read this the other day and again just now! lol
I'm glad no one was hurt but I am sorry about your collection D:
What a morning misadventure! Yuck. I've never lived in a house with a basement, but when I was a kid our family home flooded during a bad storm. Such labor intensive clean-up. I hope yours goes/went smoothly.
LOL at the "tribute to algae" and your sister looking like a jaundiced pumpkin! I was thankful my BFF had me read scripture in her wedding rather than being a bridesmaid since I would have looked like a hippo in a tutu in her bridesmaids' dresses.
That flood has happened to us before, too. UGH! At least ours wasn't in the morning.
