You darling! I will take you up on it, just hoping that I can actually produce something to beta. I've had dry spells, but never a spell like this, and it turns out, writing isn't like riding a bike!
I need to catch up with everyone and everything, RL, online, the works! But I'm off work this week, and though I'm going to go out and have some fun (at last, long last) and also get lots of boring stuff done, I intend to have some online time too.
Beta, yay. Now 'all' I have to do is write a story. Hah! Are you signing up for yuletide?
I am totally having the same fits of horror! I've written a couple of things this year, but not much, and ~definitely not much that I've thought was any good.
I'm 99% sure I'm doing it anyway. And I'm definitely going to make some nominations, one of which will be Chicago Fire (Definitely Kelly, Andrew and Leslie, and um, someone else? Maybe Matt? Or Benny? Any requests?).
I hope you do it. And I'll be more than happy to offer any hand-holding you might need!
It's a horrid feeling, isn't it? I can't remember what it was like when stories came into my head and I could just write.
I think nominations are a good place to start. They don't quite commit us, but they get us used to the idea of potentially having to produce a story.
I can't think who Andrew is. But yeah, Kelly and Leslie definitely. Perhaps Matt or Otis or Antonio, or Peter Mill's sister (I've forgotten her name!). Go with your gut.

I can't think who Andrew is. Andrew Darden. Sorry. I think I'm probably the only person who cares one iota about him, but the way he ties Matt, Kelly, and Heather together intrigues me LIKE NOTHING ELSE about this show (despite the fact that the show itself doesn't seem to care too much about it most of the time!).
I think Matt will fill my last spot, because that way, if others haven't thought of CF during the nomination process, they may see it in the final list and think YES! I CAN WRITE THAT! And I think Matt is most likely to bring about that response. I am nothing if not completely selfish in that regard! Haha! ALL THE FIC, I SAY!
I may even change Leslie to Heather, because I suspect Leslie's nomination is a pretty sure thing. I'll wait until the last minute and hope that people post their choices to the discussion entry here at LJ.

Oh, Darden, of course! I suck at characters names, honestly, it's awful. My memory is so bad these days. And yes, I think he's a great choice - that hint we saw in the pilot of the way he, Matt and Kelly used to be was what made me really want to see Matt and Kelly as friends again. And there was a lot more potential with Heather too - maybe we'll see it in the next season.
The familiar yuletide excitement is helping me forget just how scary it feels this year!
DOT IT OMG I WILL HOLD ALL YOUR HANDS!!! And while I will be useless for most of those fandoms, I will happily give you fandom!clueless beta services for any and all. (Except possibly Perks of Being a Wallflower as I have not yet read that book and it's super high on my priority list).
Also I can't justify participating this year (though this is the first year I'm paying attention as it gears up, and I am KIND OF YEARNING) on account of owing some charityfics to some awesome and patient people -- so I'd love to participate vicariously by cheering you on.

I'm so scared RL will get overwhelming again, and I won't be able to juggle everything! But I want to try! And I will take you up for hand-holding (just the 2 hands!! *g*) and betaing, though I feel incredibly selfish when I haven't been around to beta for anyone for months.

Two hands. Got it. I can handle that. ;p Even if RL explodes a bit, I have confidence in your ability to work to a crunch deadline. I've seen you do it before, I'll remind you you can do it again. ^_^
And YUS I really do want to do it next year. In truth, I really want to do it THIS year. But the holidays are already kind of a psychotic time for me (for reasons that are probably obvious and do not need to be discussed here *wink*), and I'd hate to let either future giftees or current charity peeps down on account of over-reaching. But there will always be next year. Oh yes. Yuletide is clearly unstoppable, and one of these years it will be my time to play.
Yeah, I can pull out things at the last minute - I have to remember that! Just as long as RL doesn't explode again!
I want to talk you into doing it this year, but you know best if it's a good idea or not. But I'll love it when you do it - it's such fun all panicking together! *g*
This year has been a constant series of dropping things because I had to give priority to more important things, but I really, really want to have this! So yes, good luck to us both!
