Seems like every week on Chicago Fire, I get fixated on one moment. No prizes for guessing that this week's moment was [spoiler]Shay asking Severide to be her baby daddy! ♥
And while I'm talking about Chicago Fire, dodger_sister well and truly made my day with this story: To Fight Another Day. A quiet little pre-series look at Casey, Severide and Darden

If/when you get the shows, give them a go. Elementary is superb, and getting better as the season goes on. Chicago Fire isn't really great TV, but I adore the characters and relationships.
Unfortunately RL is on rather a long term suck, but I'm trying to find good moments, and LJ friends are one of those!
ELEMENTARY! JOAN!!! ALL the hearts for that show, seriously. They've brilliantly dodged all the problematic ways that it could've gone by making the show all about Joan's personal fulfillment. And it is lovely to see!
The producers have really surprised me with the direction they've taken Elementary, and a very good surprise it is! Sherlock is a surprisingly good and generous mentor to Joan, and seeing Joan take to this new life is fascinating.
I'm perfectly content to be predictable with my reaction to Severide and Shay!! *g*
I was nervous about Elementary because I really wanted to like it, and didn't know how it was going to play. But each week I've been falling for it more.
It can be fun sometimes, watching something and thinking 'X is going to LOVE this'!
I enjoyed the pilot of Elementary, but yes, it was a slowish start - it's as the relationship between Joan and Sherlock has changed that it's really taking life.

LOL No one is even a little surprised, bb! That was my favorite moment too because, omg, Severide's face. His total and utter inability to speak, like his mouth opening and closing. It was very, very good for me. And as always, I <3 Mouch!!!!
I was kind of back and forth on the whole Casey/Heather thing. Otoh, what the hell, go for it! And I liked her. Otoh, Casey made a good point when he told her why they shouldn't. But none of that matters, because what we are going to get out of it (from the previews) seems to be a rabid misunderstanding between Matt & Kelly that is begging me to AU-fic it already and it hasn't even aired yet!!
In other news, thanks so much for the rec!!! I'm thrilled you liked it and I am completely cool with you pulling me overboard into this fandom. :)
Hope the RL stuff clears up soon enough, or slows down a little, or something along those lines. Good luck with it all.
He was adorably bemused by the whole thing, and Shay was so flustered at telling him. And I loved her little cross-examination of Mouch!
I'd like to see Casey and Heather give it a go - not that there's a huge spark there, but I could see it happening, and it'd give Casey a ready-made family which is something I think he would not only deal with, but love. Is it terrible that I'd almost rather Casey and Severide were fighting than not having any air time together?!
I'm always thrilled to pull people into my favourite fandoms!! Especially when it gets me fic!
I'll just be glad if I can see a hint of light at the end of the tunnel! Hence my escaping a bit with Chicago Fire!
Elementary is good! I've loved Lucy Liu since her days on "Ally McBeal". And for whatever reason, I still can't get over the fact that Johnny Lee Miller was Angelina Jolie's husband! I sincerely hope that your problems will resolve themselves quickly!

Me too but I adore both actors and felt compelled to give it a chance. It did get off to a slow start but I'd just sit back and enjoy the pretty.
You're very welcome. It's the least I can do.
