Oh. This is so perfect. So very them and just how I imagine it could happen between them. The mood is so right, quiet, with all the sharp edges just beneath the surface, and, yes, their life in limbo. Beautiful.

Thank you so much for writing me this! I love it! <333

(Also, I love your description of John's approximation of a smile, because it's been frustrating me that I can't describe it when I'm writing from John's perspective and it's so integral to him. Somehow it eased my frustration to see you describe it. *g*)

Thank you so much for giving me the prompt (and for helping over on our 4_a_star collection!) I had a really great time writing this story - they're just such fascinating characters - so I'm doubly grateful to you!

And I'm so pleased you liked it! <333

*laughs* I found myself wanting to describe Mark from an outsider's point of view a couple of times! Of course, your problem with wanting to describe John's approximation of a smile is easily fixed - you'll just have to write another story, from a different point of view!

Thank you!

They are so fucked up, but it's part of what makes them so fascinating. I do hope the show explores more of the strange kinship we saw between them at the start of season 2.

Are they getting a third season because the second was a bit... I wasn't overly impressed but I think that was because of lack of Alice and lack of Mark and it was just missing some basic interpersonal connections. IDK, I've no idea if that makes even a vague sort of sense.

I loved this. This story fits both of their personalities so well.

Oh, Signe, this is fantastic. I just. So extraordinarily broken and so desperate to be fixed - this is a perfect version of that Mark we saw at the beginning of the second series.

And John through Mark's eyes. The way John makes him feel warm and human. I just. Yes.

Oh, wow, thank you! I found their opening meeting in 2x01 fascinating, and John taking Jenny around to Mark, so I really enjoyed trying to explore their relationship a bit further.
