Generation Kill fic: The Platinum Service

Jun 15, 2011 20:13

I actually managed a prompt ficlet when I was in the park yesterday (and started a second, so there might even be more.) This one is for amberlynne's prompt: Captain Terminator goes on vacation with his hot boyfriend and has a hard time not spending the whole time saving everyone! amberlynne-safe, natch.

Did I mention that I love this 'verse?

Also. Um, I couldn't resist, because this: He lands on an outcrop just above and to the right of Brad and sits down, swinging his feet over the edge. (Brad had considered waiting on that outcrop himself, but supposed he ought to look at least a little bit in danger, so he's got his back to the cliff and his feet awkwardly jammed onto a six inch ledge. It isn't particularly comfortable.)

Go ahead, I don't mind. I made it for you after all ;)

And it's because you wrote the most awesome 'verse and I want to live in it forever! ♥

That was meant to read 'post a link' not 'post and link' - damn, I always make so many typos in comments!

Anyway, done! And I am so happy!

PS, you can draw Nate! I love Nate in it - he looks all determined and just like Captain Terminator should look.

I can finish it... some day. If you want ;)

Yes, please! Though I love the sketch as it is!

...and damn, I wanted to include Captain Terminator's initials on his shirt - I knew I would forget about something XD
So that's something to think about if I manage to pull off a coloured version one day ;)

I hadn't even thought of that! I guess he'd just go for a large T in the centre.

(Though now I've got the idea stuck in my head that he'd write his real name on a tag on the inside of his uniform, but he's kind of a dork sometimes, and Brad would see it and point and laugh and Nate would be all sheepish and embarrassed. Which wouldn't really happen, because Nate's far too smart for that, but the idea amused me!)

I though the same thing! :)
(By the way, do you have any colours preference for Nate's outfit? Because I sort of started a watercolour piece, I hope it doesn't turn out a hot mess!)

Hey, but I think you should write a fic featuring the cape. Throw in huddling for warmth for a good measure and have them using the cape as a blanket (because there can never be enough huddling for warmth fics *g*)

Eeeee, watercolour! You are marvellous! I can't remember if I picked a colour or not - I know I was chatting to someone about the cape at one time - maybe you - but it was ages ago. I'm currently imagining it as purple with a yellow T, but hee, that would almost certainly be a hot mess! Have you any thoughts on the colours?

You clearly know my weak spot for huddling for warmth fics! I shall add that idea to the little list of prompts amberlynne gave me!

I have a love/hate relationship with watercolours, so we'll see how it turns out! I was thinking a red/purple cape and a sort of deep gray with blue undertones for shirt/pants (does he wear a onesie?). And something lighter for the T, but probably still gray.

Your weak spot is my weak spot too!

That sounds awesome!

Much as I'm not wild about the idea of a onepiece (superhero attire is dreadful! *g*), it'd be practical, so I think Nate would go for the practical look. So yes to that.

It is dreadful, I agree completely! XD

I suppose it's tricky finding something that will go under a set of day time work clothes, without all bunching up! Ah, the problems of a superhero! *g*

Strangely, my very favorite part is the way Nate's left foot looks like it's tilted up a bit. It's so jaunty!
