Basically, the problem is that this year I'm running it on my own. Running it with pheebs1 last year made a big difference - we were able to sort out problems together, and share the work load. Music mixes and recs were the biggest problem area, so I made the decision to exclude them so that I could manage to run the challenge, without it becoming too much of a headache for me (I work long hours, and have limited online fannish time). I understand that it's disappointing for some, but the number of questions and issues those generated was huge, so I felt a simplified version of the challenge would be better than nothing.
I've added podfic to the list, though, as that could fairly be included in fiction, so I hope that will ease the disappointment.
You're so kind - I'm not sure if I'll do a masterlist this time, though. It was a ton of work last time, and I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible. But if I do brave it, I'm sure I'll be glad of help - thank you!
I'm hoping I'll be able to start writing again soon - it's been over a week, and that is a looooong time for me (okay, I've written bits and pieces in my notepad, but it was crap, so I don't count it!).
1. When should I claim something? Do I need to claim something? (Basically, I'm worried about if my muse decides to up and leave and if I've claimed something. But if I wait until I've actually got words on the page then the prompt is sitting there lonely and looking like no-one is fulfilling it.)
2. From skimming the comments above, I notice podfic is okay. Could you clarify your post to state that explicitly? Just adding it to the ETA would be fine.
3. Lavish praise time! I didn't know about last year's, but this is awesome! Thank you for running it!
1. That's up to you, really! As long as you make sure you come back and claim a prompt at some stage. Personally, I tend to claim a couple of things I can do easily to start off, then claim harder things one at a time as I start them. But you know what you're likely to be able to do. The two rules are just (1) do claim/offer something and (2) try to make sure you complete what you offer, so try to strike a balance between those two, and you should be good.
2. It is in the post - at the start, where I list things: three different types of fanwork: fiction (includes podfic), vids or art (art includes icons, wallpaper, banners, fic covers, mood themes etc). I'd rather not add it to the eta as well, as that's specifying things that aren't allowed, and I don't want to cause confusion.

No worries - it wasn't a stupid question, just one there isn't a black or white answer to! *g*
