A footnote to the five year plan, Entourage, Ari/Lloyd, my bossblack_eyedgirlJanuary 28 2009, 01:38:18 UTC
Ari Gold is the centre of Lloyd’s universe. This is unfortunate for Tom, and Lloyd’s parents, and Jay, his best friend from college, but it’s true. It’s not necessarily a compliment to Ari - the sun holds everything else in its orbit but it’s also, essentially, a serious of small nuclear explosions. The metaphor holds.
But the truly horrifying thing is, the first word Lloyd thinks of to describe Ari isn’t ‘jerk’ or ‘narrow-minded’, or ‘quite probably clinically insane’. It’s 'mine'. My boss, my responsibility, my reason for drinking and/or therapy. Mine.
He imagines, darkly, that when a dog jumps in Pavlovian response at its master’s call, it probably thinks much the same thing. Even if the master kicks.
And when he dives to answer Ari’s call - the screech he hears long before Ari reaches the office - there’s a guilty thrill beneath the panic. It’s his name Ari calls, always, and the other assistants leap out of his way. There’s a certain cachet in being the gateway to the most terrifying man in Hollywood

:) It's not normally my thing in a full-on sense, but I find their relationship really fun, so it was nice to play with it a little. And I'm really glad I could make it work for you!
