You'd think I'd be posting something porny, wouldn't you, seeing as I'm running the Porn Battle. But you'd be wrong! Instead, a little bit of minor character fic, that I suspect will interest pretty much no one! Sometimes I just like to write for me.

Centre of the Universe [Torchwood, Rhys, Rhys/Gwen, PG-13, 750 words]

( She used to look at him like he was a chip butty, like she couldn't keep her hands off of him, like she wanted to eat him up. Like he was the centre of her universe and everything revolved around them, together. )

I felt really bad for Rhys, watching the series. He's already lost her and maybe he knows it... at any rate, love piece.

Also, is it always "ginger" in the UK, as opposed to redhead?

I find myself rooting for Rhys - he's very likable.

Not really - ginger just seemed right in this instance, something Rhys would use. And it's sort of to imply that he wasn't *looking* at the shop assistant, not interested, he just noticed her hair colour.

I must confess I've barely read anything in the fandom. But whenever I take a look, it seems to be predominantly Jack/Ianto, which while nice, seems a bit of a shame. So yes, I agree, there should be more Rhys fic!

I read mostly gen, but I have a sweet spot for Rhys, so I'll read Rhys/Gwen or Rhys/anybody else if it would only show up. :-)

There really isn't enough quality Rhys fic in the universe. I love the way you've written him, I love that he isn't a villain.

Thank you so much! I really like him - he's a plain Welsh lad, stuck in a difficult situation through no fault of his own - so I'm glad that came through in the writing.
