The English and the art of tea

Is there a reason that it's specifically English and tea and not British? Just curious.

Perhaps because it would be dangerous to speculate about the tea drinking habits of Scots, Welsh and Irish who have different traditions and standards?

Interestingly, I've had quite different results on the poll from the Scots and Irish (no Welsh that I know of have taken the poll yet).

But the real reason is that the question is related to English Cream Teas, so I thought I'd keep it all English rather than British.

It's actually related to English Cream Teas, hence my latest poll, so I thought I'd stick with English throughout.

And, interestingly, I've had quite different answers from the Irish and Scots to the English who've filled in the poll. I didn't expect that much difference.

You know, I actually spent 4 months in London, and I still don't know. When I went to cafes and places like that, they usually had all those things out. And I think that I used milk with certain kinds of teas and lemons with other kinds. Hmph.
