There's a blush for thought and a blush for nought, and a blush for just begun it.

The Half-Blood Prince is now ordered, and supposed to arrive on Saturday (if it doesn't, be prepared for wailing in this journal). It's going to be strange, reading it along with so many other fans, rather than as a solitary pursuit. The last book I didn't bother to buy for a while after it was released (and 'a while' is a bit of a British ( Read more... )

I do take off the paper cover and put it in a protective carrybag (from Levenger's), but it's not out of being shy about it. Of course, I'm still in the middle of book 3...

Oh, I always remove dust jackets from hard cover books when I'm reading them - I prefer not to get them messed up.

Are you planning on reading all the books?

Each one, as soon as I've seen the movie! (My husband will insist that we pick up the next book this week. He doesn't use my book cover...)

Ah, I started reading the books well before the movies were even thought of, so I guess I hadn't thought that there are some who are watching the movies before reading the books. I guess I tend to think of the books as the real canon, and the movies as secondary to that, but it must feel quite different to someone seeing them in the order you are.

Just wanted to say thanks for the textures rec. Beautiful work, indeed.

I haven't pre-ordered HBP, but hope to be reading it soon enough. Haven't really followed the immediate fandom reaction and I probably won't again this time, especially since I hear skirmishes are already breaking out and such things just bring me down. Happy reading!

The textures are lovely! I've used some of the icon ones already, and they work well.

Ah, skirmishes seem to be part of any big LJ event! Thankfully I've not seen any on my flist, and hopefully it'll stay that way!

I'm getting mine from Amazon.co.uk - they have two different dustjackets, both for the same price (£8.99). This is the adult one, and this is the children's. I just picked the adult cover because I prefer the look of it.

(Also, in the States we only have one cover, and it's different from both the ones linked to... so which cover you get also depends on where you live...)

I think they're lovely, so I wanted more people to get the chance to use them.

I'm buying the American hardcover edition. I'm not sure whether it qualifies as adult or childrens'^^

Hee, when I wrote the poll I had no idea that the American market didn't have separate adult and children covers. So the poll is screwed! *g*
