The other day, just before bed, jadefu was flipping through a recent issue of bitch magazine. It occurred to me that these are two completely different statements ( Read more... )

O hai! It's nice to see your post on my FriendBots page. Don't disappear so much this time, hmm?

Also, yes, those are two very different things, and this post absolutely cracked me up. I hope jadefu know which way you meant it and did not roll up her issue of bitch and bonk you on the head with it. Although if she did, I hope there are pictures.

I didn't actually say it out loud. Mostly because I was sleepy, and wasn't sure the extra half second pause for the dash instead of the comma would be clear. I didn't particularly want to move to the couch. :)

It's better than repeating all the crazy stuff I said while drunk Saturday. :) So I forgive him. For now.

"What are you reading? i>Bitch?" is always an option, even if it's not the most grammatically correct.

Regardless, it's nice to see you in LJ-land. :-)

And what the frakk happened to my html? That was supposed to be italicized, in case you couldn't tell.

Well, that's kinda what I was going for with the dash. It's really hard to say italics (thus clearly why you couldn't type them), so it's that extra fraction of a second pause that sets it off. :)

Ramona's around on LJ somewhere too, but I only have Bettie, Fawkes, Frieda, and Judy from CTRG.

(Astute readers will notice that I have used the linguist's convention of preceding an incorrect or unusable form with an asterisk.)

What about this:

"Timmy was enjoying the warm summer breeze in his hair as he lay on his stomach under the willow tree with his immensely literate dog, Lassie. Suddenly, Lassie growled. That big bully Jack was walking toward them.
'Looking at your dumb comic books again, Timmy?' he said roughly when he reached the shade.
'None of your beeswax.'
Jack was momentarily put off by Timmy's scowl and turned to Lassie. 'What are you reading, bitch?'
'Something you wouldn't understand, asshole,' sneered Lassie as she shut Plato's Republic with one white paw."

Sorry, couldn't let that go. : )
