I was thinking like you do for a while, mostly because Kurt was kinda worshipping blaine and I didn't want him to have a BF who would be like a model to him. I wanted Kurt to have a BF who would be his equal... But with Blaine character development, they began to show his defaults and in my mind they finally became equal and that's when i really began to ship them lol
I can understand what you're saying, but in the mean time i think there's no love (at least real love) without friendship so the prom scene only showed me that they have a real connection and i really loved it :)
I know, I loved the prom scene for that, it was showing that they both grew up thank to the other,and it was great, but I must admit that I'm still quite lukewarm about the pairing, I never got into the frenzy they seem to provoke I guess. Maybe later...
