new leather working project... help needed

 So my newest project will be a leather cover for my Amazon Kindle.  I had thought about making a wood cover for it so it would look like a wax tablet, but I don't have woodworking tools here at the house.  What I do have is plenty of leather.  So the question is, what to do for decoration on the outside of the cover?  Do I do a woodgrain theme,
