Oh, and have you heard the rumors that Konami has apparently been dealing with/been taken over by/become a front company for the Yakuza lately? As in, that's possibly why they've recently been mostly abandoning video games altogether and getting into pachinko instead, among other things? I hadn't heard that before, as far as I can recall, even though the rumors have apparently been around for at least as long as the time period during which Konami really started turning into the total shithole of a company that it is these days. At this point, it certainly wouldn't surprise me at all if the rumors prove to be true.
And yeah, more generally speaking, to hell with anyone who buys horseshit microtransactions like this in any game, beta or not.
