Pairing: Harry/Hermione Rating: PG Date: 6/14/06 Words: 2651 Summary: When Hermione broke up with Ron (for real, for good, forever) she didn't rage and she didn't yell and she didn't cry.
I loved that they didn't break up with Ron or Ginny in bad ways. And I loved that Hermione was drinking Orangina. I love that drink! I used to buy it all the time when I worked at Superstore because they sold it by the single bottle :D
Ron and this kind of neatness couldn't exist in the same postal code.
That's really beautiful, in your typical quiet and unforced way. I got such a sense of them all being friends, despite whatever romantic stuff might or might not be happening on top of that.
I love the way you dealt with the fact that some relationships just don't work out, for whatever reason, and it doesn't always have to be huge and dramatic. I love how you showed Harry's tendency to just shut down on certain topics. I love the sense of something dark in the past, and the way everyone's getting on with their lives in its wake, a little sadder but unbroken.
And on a sillier note, I love that Harry doesn't wear shoes in his apartment, and his utterly bizarre coping habits. Those details are so ideosyncratic, and so him. :-)

That line was brilliant.

When Hermione broke up with Ron for the last time, he didn't say anything that made her angry, or anything dumb.
What he said was: Are you certain I'm the one you want to be doing this with?
That bit is one of my favorites. I really could quote the whole fic though. :D
Smashing job!
