Yeah, that would definitely be an issue, especially in the novel category. In my case, I think the tradeoff of greater variety would be worth it, but I can understand why not everyone would agree.

BTW, I'm curious -- do you not have to read much because you've already read most of the nominees, or are you no-voting the SP/RP slate? My plan is to no vote the fiction from the slate (and I've already read the non-slate novels -- they were actually both on my nomination ballot), but need to think about the other categories, since it seems that many of those folks were just caught up in the mess unawares.
