Notes: Written for muggy_mountain. This is the first FFX fic I've written in awhile, the first time I've touched Kinoc in even longer, and it felt nice to get back to them both.

( Kinoc has put off a visit to the Farplane long enough. )

Ahhh this was so awesome. And you used a 'loyal order of the kinoc' tag omg. BRB, I have a new tag to use everywhere.

But really, this was gut-punching and great. I love the flourishes of deeper canon: Kinoc's rumination on his family, the chilly idea that there are a few that know the ultimate truth of the final summoning.

And so unexpectedly heartbreaking: Still no response, no figure materializing out of the mists. No brash young officer in Yevonite armor, no disgraced guardian wearing a bright red coat, nothing but empty air. WAAAH.

And the last paragraph, geez! turned his back on the empty space as he left, letting go of his memories, his grief, allowing only certainty in their place.

Like always, I love how earthy and well-groomed your writing manages to be! You don't waste words, but you don't make them uncomfortably sparse either.

How could I not create a "loyal order of the kinoc" tag for this? I am a founding member, after all.

I like how you are an ingenious writer designated in Kinoc, Auron, Nooj/Paine centric fanfiction. You know when you think about a fandom and certain characters, you subconsciously think of a pioneer writer. That's what I do when I think of FFX/-2. ^^

I always respect your portrayal of Kinoc. I admire your depiction of Beclem more, because you opened my eyes to his fascinating character, not the side of him everyone expects to dislike.

Gah, I'm rambling. Hmm... You know what, I feel like writing a Kinoc-centric one-shot, too! But involving Baralai. I want to see them in some semblance of positive light. Maybe during the Crimson Squad arc.

You should make requests or prompts to motivate me to write something! :3
