Congratulations! You've finally finished! :D

I love this story. I love it very much. Told in a character's POV (more minor than Baralai) rarely fans ever bother to explore. This is the best gen story I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I love the Shuyin/Nooj dynamics, how subtle their personalities merge. I love Baralai's cameo appearance most of all. The researcher (which you alluded to your Research Assistant one-shot) and the mysterious priest who guarded the Cloister of Trials-- Awesome.

Baralai is my obsessive muse as much as Nooj is yours. The same for Yuna/Baralai and Paine/Nooj respectively. :D

Btw, I want to throw an idea out there.

I notice you have done some collaborative fanfiction (mighty fine ones, too) and I was wondering... would you like to co-write a parallel story of Aftermath in Baralai's POV? With me? :3

Thank you, so much, for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Baralai's cameo was a lot of fun to write, and I love that you made the connection to "Research Assistant"! Although the short no longer connects quite as well as I thought it might when I first wrote it.

If I have an X-2 "muse", it's Paine, but it is true that I like writing Nooj rather a lot, especially playing with the Shuyin/Nooj dynamic. I'm glad to hear that it works so well for you here.

Also, I am really honored by your suggestion! But I feel like I've said what I have to say about this time period of Spira's history, at least for now, and I'm not in the headspace to revisit it. However, if you decided to write it Baralai's perspective of events on your own, I'd love to see it. :)

I should say the same for myself. Whenever I write Nooj as a cameo (although it's not often), I learn more every time what a fascinating character he is. :3 Especially since he's Baralai's foil ( ... )
