Isn't there a quote to effect of "the coldest winter I ever spent was June in San Fransisco," or something like that? I think it actually was June when I visited there, and it was sunny and warmish-- as long as you stayed flat to the ground! Yes, it was VERY breezy. Seattle and SF are both beautiful cities that I love, but I couldn't live in either of them, sadly enough.
The actual quote is "...a summer in San Francisco" (rather than June), and it is attributed to Mark Twain. June is normally quite nice here; it's July and August when the fog rolls in and cools everything down. So I can believe a breezy but warm June visit. June is one of the best times to come here, I think, after September/October (which is when we get our actual summer-like weather most years).
Crazy Californians. I love the cold. I can't stand any day hotter than 75. I agree about rain though. I love a nice rain/thunderstorm to listen to while I'm falling asleep. And wind. I hate wind. Wind will take a nice, cool perfectly clear day and turn it into a bitterly cold, dry day of hell.
Crazy Yankees! 75 degrees is a nice spring day. I do love going to sleep with a nice thunderstorm, though; seems we all agree on that. I hated autumn till I moved to NC, because it meant months of freezing rain and snow, and it hurt to breathe outdoors and my toes and fingers were always miserably cold, and I had on so many layers I couldn't bend my elbows. Now there are about 2 months of "winter" which only means most days are in the 40's here, typically. Heaven. Isn't it lovely that the weather varies so much all over the country?
