I promised myself I wouldn't cry

Television is... interesting.

I found myself turning it on in the middle of the afternoon. Usually the noise bothers me, but today I was intrigued by whatever story they were telling, so I started to watch it. There was a man and a woman, and he was telling her a story about her past-- about their past. Only she couldn't remember it, until he got ( Read more... )

I can't watch it much. It doesn't sit well with me, being so fast moving and stuff. Movies, too.

You lost your memories??

I know what you mean! It's a lot of sound and fury, and most of the time it makes my head hurt.

I did. I guess a lot of people around here did, too. But it seems like everyone else is remembering things, but... it's like I have a block or something. It's coming back very, very slowly. I guess that didn't happen to you?

Me, too! Sometimes it makes me jump. My daddy didn't like it much either, but my mom did.

Nope! I just got here a little bit ago. How'd your memories disappear?

I don't know, exactly. Everyone keeps blaming it on the town. It's the town's fault I forgot everything. And it... sort of sucks, because I feel like I've forgotten something really important. And I don't remember anyone here, and no one here seems to have noticed that I'm not around... or maybe they just assume I've forgotten. Which I have. But... it's very lonely.

I'm sorry... the only things I've remembered so far were not very good. What have you been up to, since you've been in town?

I wish we could remember

Sometimes I look at you and it's like

I know what you mean. I know how powerful and moving the written word can be... and somehow it's way beyond that when you know the words are about you.

...Neil?

Why were you dressed as Ichabod Crane?
Better question... why was I dressed as a girl?
...do you have a stuffed rabbit of some sort?

Do you know... songs, at all? There are words on my keychain, and every time I read them, it's like... I start humming a tune, and I don't know what it is, and every time I try to remember, it escapes me. But I keep humming it.

Songs? Of course I know songs. I mean, some, that is. I still haven't gotten entirely used to current music, but I've listened to lots. And I've been in a few musicals since I got here.

What are the words? And why do you think I'll know
There are songs in my head sometimes that make me think of you

It says Running together, forever you and I. I'd hum it for you, but I don't think you could hear it through the computer.
