It looks as if she is actually powered by a couple of roast chickens, a few pounds of sausages and a couple of potatoes....

I'll pull his insides out, pull his insides out
And see what he ate.

Like a surgeon, hey!
Cutting for the very first time."

Man, Joss is really tying all his fandoms together. First Fray, then the Spike comics, and now this image where Buffy is obviously host to one of the xenomorphs from Alien: Resurrection.

Wanna bet Buzz Lightyear shows up to save the day?

Yeah! It's supposed to be about the size of her fist. And the poor girl's brain doesn't even fit her noggin. :P

She needs the extended brainpan for puns and quips.

Wouldn't she have more aerobic capacity if she had lungs?

The absence of lungs had struck me too.

Maybe Moline is too lazy to draw them, or see below response to elsaf's comment.

Lungs can contribute to aerobic capacity but most animals don't have lungs. Insects and fish, in particular, respirate without the need for lungs.

Perhaps Buffy is trying something she learned from Lord Teeth and Ms. French and going lung-free. Or maybe they just didn't draw them.

I thought they were her lungs...(either that or it grew three sizes that day)

I thought the lungs would be the empty space around the heart and above her stomach. They are mostly air space and I couldn't figure out what else would go there.

Also, see above response to elsaf's comment.

Buffy's heart may just have grown three sizes that day, depending on whom she went to meet in that outfit.
