I just finished American Gods last month and have been considering Anansi Boys.

It is much shorter, and quite related thematically. Did you like American Gods? At the beginning I wasn't too into it (I guess I'm like that with every book...LOL) but by the end I was absolutely in love with it. I think it (AG) reminded me a lot of Stephen King, and The Stand, which is one of my favorite books...I think Neil Gaiman has some similarities in style...
