the woman across from me has an 11-month-old baby girl with her, which usually bodes poorly for a 4+-hour flight. not in this case! the baby slept most of the way, woke up a few minutes ago, and we're now playing peekaboo ( Read more... )

I'm mother to "Don't poke your brother. No, not that one, either," "Your brother is not a drum," and "Your brother is not a pony." :P But they're pretty good on planes... It's just at home that we have the most issues.

That could have been your 16 year old child. Or so I've heard. I bet the real thing would've been much cuter.

actually, s/he would be 13 now. and children are generally cuter at 11 months than at 13 years... i think it's an evolutionary defense mechanism to keep stressed-out parents from killing their screaming kids before the kids learn to communicate more and scream less. :)
