I have quite a lot to accomplish today! I had a rubbish brunch - two cookies, a chocolate bar, a cheese sandwich and water. Hopefully dinner will be better. Mom kind of wants me to cook but I don't feel like cooking boooo. Mom has kailan in the fridge so either I stir-fry it or I steam it. BUT I AM SO LAZY ( Read more... )

Learning Italian sounds great! I had Latin in school, so I should understand the basics, but yeah, erm... XD
French is so hard to pronounce, but if you're able to learn Italian properly, French and Spanish would be easy to learn, too.
Greek and Hebrew is just hard, especially the old forms (and utterly useless, like Latin...)

Since the pope is from Germany, he speaks German. :D But as every other pope he speaks countless languages and uses at least 3 different languages at his easter speech, if I remember correctly. (I only zap trough the channel, which shows his speech here in Germany, since I'm atheist.)

i would love to be able to say something in german though, so that when we chat someday i can, like, say "Hi this is lydia and I love you", lol.

Ich liebe dich - I think! ^_~ (although I don't know about "Hi I'm Lydia")

Hahaha. XD
When he became pope, Germany was all like "We are pope". The last pope was from Poland, but he was able to speak German, too. ;)

Hi this is Lydia, you could say "Hallo, hier ist Lydia" or "Hallo, ich bins, Lydia" (this would be Hi, it's me, Lydia.)
If you want to introduce yourself to a new person "hallo, mein name ist Lydia" or "ich heiße Lydia" is the best. (ß is a sharp s).
And Ich liebe dich is correct. :D
In celebration of German I'm leaving you ä, ö and ü in this comment.

Yesterday I slept over at a friend, who's learning chinese atm and I read out a sentence. I think it was "I'd like to have a coffee please" and it was so funny to say it loud after she explained the pronounciation helps above the words.

Learning Italian seems like fun as well. My preference on the 'western languages' would have to be Spanish since my native tongue has words that are borrowed from it.

I also wanted to study Greek and Hebrew and Latin. I think it will be interesting reading religious texts in their original form.

I'm still struggling with Japanese so I'm putting on hold all my other language aspirations.

I would totally love to learn Italian. Then I can watch all my parents' Pavarotti/Three Tenor opera dvds and not be totally "???" about what they're singing. Except Turandot because the story is pretty retarded to begin with. That's... probably what I'd learn Italian for. And the Pope. Yeah, the Pope :) (I'm Catholic, Lydia! I think I had it in my brain thinking you were Catholic too considering we're both Queks or something) And Italian is such a pretty language!

I realize my Mandarin has become pretty horrid due to underuse. My mom has been nagging at me about this D:

Also, KAILAN. Maybe this is a Quek thing, but it's like my family's staple vegetable. The only thing is that I hate it with a vengeance (SO BITTER!) and I'd rather run off to my mom's side where I don't need to eat it.
