lacrimosa means 'weeping' in Latin i_am_zan April 27 2009, 14:44:41 UTC
'L'Acrimosa Dies Illa' is also one of the most beautiful parts of Mozart's "Requiem Mass". And in essence that is what it is singing about ...

Here on You tube

Lacrimosa dies illa
Qua resurget ex favilla
Judicandus homo reus.
Huic ergo parce, Deus:
Pie Jesu Domine,
Dona eis requiem. Amen

Tearful that day,
on which will rise from ashes
guilty man for judgment.
So have mercy, O Lord, on this man.
Compassionate Lord Jesus,
grant them rest. Amen.

From Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary! I have always loved this word!

-adjective 1. suggestive of or tending to cause tears; mournful.
2. given to shedding tears readily; tearful.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Origin:
1655-65; < L lacrimōsus, equiv. to lacrim(a) tear (see lachrymal ) + -ōsus -ose 1

Related forms:

lach⋅ry⋅mos⋅i⋅ty  /ˌlækrəˈmɒsɪti/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [lak-ruh-mos-i-tee] noun

It feels like I wasted 12 years of my life, not being able to speak it anymore. T_____________T

For some reason 什么时候 doesn't make sense to me. It literally means "what time" not "when" for some reason. Sad face.
