I'm afraid that I haven't updated my journal in a few weeks. It's partly been because I've been working on my dissertation, and partly because I've been working on taking care of my affairs so I can stay here for the next three years. Two nights ago I went to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, which is one of the central events that happens here each year. It’s generally lots of Scottish/UK sorts of organizations, with some multi-cultural sort of events as well. Yesterday we met the landlord who owned the flat we’d been wanting, and we finalized everything. The landlord himself is a nice old grandpa-literally. Ok, whether or not this is worth posting, I'm going ot share this. I feel like it's my second biggest accomplishment this year--assuming I finish my dissertation.
