I'm so sad to hear about Miep Gies. I've read her book (Anne Frank remembered) several times, and every time, I'm amazed, all over again, by what she did--and I can't help wondering whether I'd be able to do that if I was in the same situation.

Crime shows are so high on my boring meter that they put me to sleep- at any time of day. I just see a detective and the yawn (or urge to bail) starts. It makes watching Southland difficult at times, but I either tune out, multi-task, or watch with the FF.
I saw the story about Miep Gies earlier this evening. It shouldn't have surprised me that she was almost 101, but somehow it did. I've read her book and always thought she was someone I would have loved to have met. The world lost a truly decent person.
