Crime Shows Have Melted My Brain

No, seriously. No. Seriously.

I have been at my parents' house for far too long. My mother watches crime shows pretty much 24/7. Now, ask miss_begonia, I like me an occasional Law & Order episode, especially when I can't sleep. But this is like Panama-level torture. My brain hurts. I had to watch CSI: Miami tonight

Glad to hear that your mother is improving (and I sympathize re-the crime show thing. I like an episode every once in a while, but aside from a few shows I wouldn't miss for the world, like Cold Case, they're not really my cup of tea.)

I'm so sad to hear about Miep Gies. I've read her book (Anne Frank remembered) several times, and every time, I'm amazed, all over again, by what she did--and I can't help wondering whether I'd be able to do that if I was in the same situation.

Good news on the mom front. That light at the end of the tunnel is always a boost. Dinner plans are a good thing too.

Crime shows are so high on my boring meter that they put me to sleep- at any time of day. I just see a detective and the yawn (or urge to bail) starts. It makes watching Southland difficult at times, but I either tune out, multi-task, or watch with the FF.

I saw the story about Miep Gies earlier this evening. It shouldn't have surprised me that she was almost 101, but somehow it did. I've read her book and always thought she was someone I would have loved to have met. The world lost a truly decent person.
