John Hodgman was the featured speaker at the White House Radio and Television Correspondents' Dinner last night, and he pretty much brought the house down in style while explaining that President Obama, prosthetic-ear enthusiast, is the first nerd president. It's pretty awesome:

My personally meaningful albums (because there isn't just one, ahahahha) are Joseph Arthur's Redemption's Son (found through The O.C.) and Fiona Apple's When the Pawn. Both got me through very tough times in my life.

I loved Portrait of the Artist -- we read it in AP English, and I think I was one of the only students who adored it. Most of the novels we read were boring or forgettable, but something about Joyce drew me in. I keep thinking I should read Ulysses.
