Thank God It's Friday (Night Lights) Again!

So, it's the first episode of the season that we never thought we'd see. From what I can tell from the ratings, FNL did okay, but I know it's a long, long road. I'm heartened by the fact that every single person I know who picked up the bargain-priced cds this summer is now a die-hard fan. Even a few friends who'd been deeply skeptical and ( Read more... )

I loved it - except that outlandish plot twist does have me worried - But as you are - I am also willing to go for the ride- I know that it is going to tear Landry apart. I was suprised how difficult it was to fit in a little from everyones story in the one episode. But I loved every minute and want more more more - I was a summer convert and had the luxury of watching the whole season on line.

Other than wanting more Tim and less Landry, I liked the season premiere. The Tyra/Landry thing was a bit much, but I'll roll with it and if it gets too bad, that's what my knitting is for (much like it got me through the Marissa bits of The OC).

One quibble- knowing how my nephew looked after a few seasons of HS football, Matt really should have better muscles. : )

Ah, yes. You speak for me in your lovingly detailed appreciation.
I am disappointed and uneasy about the murder plot, and hope it ends up not going where I think it'll go … it's far too top heavy for what this show has been, and just feels so so so wrong. But perhaps we'll be pleasantly surprised ….

I agree with everything that you said. The one thing that is still rubbing me the wrong way id the murder plot. I feel that Tyra and Landry could have bonded over something other than a murder. I didn't even mind the whole stalker thing as much as the murder. He could have hit the guy, not killed him, and it would have had the same impact, at least IMO.

I am going to reserve too much hatred for the storyline until I see how it all plays out, and I do trust the writers. I'm just glad the show is back!

Besides, seeing Coach Taylor with that baby made me melt. Cutest scene ever.
