god, unpopular fandom opinion time.

i will never "fandom-count" myself, and i think this whole thing has surpassed ridiculous. it was a mistake, and i know no one's known what six apart's intentions were for 48 hours, but come on. it was a mistake, not a witch hunt.

~

now, let's go make some pancakes!

friend box, fandom, internets

Word. People are getting totally ridiculous about this whole thing, and it's so tired and old by now.

Pancakes! Woo!

Yeah, I agree. They took their good intentions and made a stupid mistake that snowballed out of control. All this "HOMG I'M TAKING MY BALL AND GOING TO GJ!" stuff is getting on my nerves more than the Barak post is -- for crying out loud, LJ did make mistakes before 6A came along. It wasn't always candies and flowers and bunnies back then, and we all just got over those kerfluffles, too.

OMG, you have totally summed up exactly how I feel about 90% of the posts of my flist this morning! Yay! Thank you!

And also, seriously. I understand the concerns of people who found their favorite fiction comm or RPG journal deleted, but.

Word.

Anyone who thinks that they'll be "safe" on another server, is clearly more naive than I can even articulate. Also? all the other servers are even small companies than 6A/LJ and will crumple even faster. Also also? Ads. GJ is completely ad supported. Hello, people? Hello?

Mmm, pancakes.

I have to say, I also am interested in the fandom_counts thing because I'm fascinated by how many of us there are. I've always had a vague head-scratch count of "very very large," but it's nice to see it quantitated in some way. What can I say, I like to see percentages.
