I don't know if you watch anything on, say, G4.. Or perhaps gamespot.com.. Or any number of gaming mags.. But they _all_ have heavy advertising in them from the military.
I'm pretty sure that's by design. Equate pulling a trigger to getting a reward (oh, more ammo! a health pack!) and then sign people up for the real thing.
On the PS3: LittleBigPlanet and Flower.. Two games I've spent a lot of time with lately which involve zero killing in a wartime scenario. :)
I absolutely agree with you 100%. War is NOT funny or a game. Any kind of violence/shooting/gun games are just ridiculous. It causes people to forget that shooting=dead not shooting=winning.
I decided a long, long time ago that war/violent video games would not be allowed in my house if I ever have kids. Those and "toy" guns/weapons of any kind...
