FFF okay, so like, maybe my standards of "good" animation are low because of .hack//Roots or something. XD But this? This fabulous little promo image? I THINK IT'S REALLY CUTE, OKAY? I THINK THEY LOOK JUST FINE, EVEN COOL. Like Luke there? Oh yeah. I'd hit that.

Fandom is not a trusting place. XD We love our game and we want the creators of the anime to get it right, dammit, and so we worry. We can't do it to our families, most of the time--they haven't played the game, and/or take our love of video game(s) with a sense of bemusement. So we've got to vent our feelings on the only forum we can, you know?

Not that I've been complaining too much. I'm going to wait and see how many changes they make before I start. >.>

Worrying is fine; my beef is mostly with those who are utterly convinced that it's already been ruined, merely by existing. XD; Maybe I'm just an optimist? I really think it'll be lovely.

I don't know wtf is supposed to be wrong with that image. Everyone looks good, accurate, animated, cute, etc. All I have to say to bitchers until such time as we've seen an episode and it's trash is: Stop being so damn eager to find something to bitch about!

Seriously, though, they slaughtered Tales of Eternia, Tales of Symphonia was lame, and I'm not really all that hopeful that TOA will be worth it. :\ But I have my dreams...!

I think it looks pretty similar to the in-game cutscenes, myself. o.o And the backgrounds have looked lovely. *^* See, that's what I think too: it is entirely possible that it'll suck more than anything that has ever sucked before, but to damn it to failure before we've even seen one clip of it? That's too much for me to swallow. XD;

I can understand the concern! My hopes are high because it's Sunrise, and pretty much all of my favorite anime series ever were done by them, whereas Symphonia's...did the lame Weiß Kreuz sequel, and not much else of note. XD I can't say much about Eternia, 'cause I don't know the game or the anime, but I guess my point is that because it's not even the same people doing Abyss, the prior failures don't even really factor in. You know? I don't know, like I said to honorbound up there, I might just be an optimist. XD;

Eternia was completely slaughtered. I only saw one episode of it, but it already completely slaughtered it. In one fell swoop it destroyed my favorite thing about the main characters: Reid is a reluctant hero, he doesn't want to go on adventures, it's his best friend Farah (who he has a crush on, but she's oblivious) who is all like, weird stuff, yay ♥ and wants to do crazy things and have wacky adventures, and so Reid comes along to keep her out of trouble.

And they just -- destroyed it. They reduced it to Ranma and Akane: he has wacky adventures, she has a secret crush on him and follows in his wake, bitching and yelling at him the whole time while random girls fall in his lap. And I'm like, WHAT NO. Now I hate her and their relationship isn't cute at all. Also they made Farah a damsel who Reid needs to rescue instead of a fine goddamn martial artist.

But, hey, I'm an optimist too, inasmuch that I don't think anyone would ever repeat such a travesty. And Sunrise is a pretty reputable studio! Our hopes may not be entirely unfounded

Oh god, seriously. XD I nearly dropped it there in the middle when Haseo went like. Olive green. And his hair exploded. And his eyes angled unnaturally on his head. XD;

That and Ovan's horrible pseudo-Beatles hair. Woooo doggie.

BUT, I stuck it out for story alone. And actually, it was kind of fun to make fun of how awful it was visually, too. XD
