I hear you! My boys were born between 38 1/2 and 39 weeks and then my daughter (now 2 1/2 weeks old) came at 41 weeks, 2 days. I particularly loved it when my mother told me that I was still pregnant because I "just couldn't let go." That was helpful... Hope your womb raider decides to make an appearance some time soon!

I'm almost hoping if I don't go today that I wait until wednesday. tomorrow my MW has meetings to go to (which she said she'd leave if I call, but I'd still feel bad, not like it's my choice or anything!) the 12th is my deceased cousin's birthday (not sure how my uncle would take it, the baby born that day) and the 13th is my dad's.. I guess that leaves the 11th open, though. oh well. not my decision!

I read a memoir by a midwife and she said babies always come when it's least convenient for the midwife. Her kids just had to get used to Mom leaving in the middle of their birthdays, not being there on Christmas morning, and never leaving for vacation when planned. Maybe her having meetings is exactly what is needed to kick you into labor.

my first was born on a sunday. I'd had a MW appointment that saturday and as she was leaving she told my belly "not tomorrow, I want sunday off!" I guess that was my daughter's first act of defying authority...
