Working for the state really can suck sometimes. I was in my OPS position for almost 9 months before I finally landed a Career Service, and I spent the entire 2.5 years at that position applying and interviewing for other positions before my boss actually got me one. If you are looking for another job, I will keep an eye out for what we may have here.
Yea, I was OPS for 11 months (my pregnancy + some) This position is CS, but it sucks some thing horrible! There are 2 reasons I left DEP. 1. benefits 2. I was told I can move up faster. I took a major pay cut, for more stress! Theres to much politics in State offices ! I'd appreciate that! thanks! .... Where do you work? lol
I work for DFS now, I worked for DBPR when I was OPS. It's a pretty good job, I'm doing things that are going to help me with my career when I finally get out of school, so I'm excited.
It really does suck how OPS technically gets paid more than CS, but sometimes you have to take the cut for the benefits. I was making hella money at DBPR, and I still make good money, but not the same.
