Now that he's got it down, Larry actually kinda likes this job.
And it's gonna be a good night. Rexie and the lions are occupied, the Civil War dudes are off letting the pharaoh out, the Vikings are setting up the soccer nets, the hotel lobby's--
...The hotel lobby?

There's a guy - thirty at most, wearing a dark gray uniform with an American ( Read more... )

((OOC: Omg I love this movie. : D))

"Believe it or not, you're not really in that building anymore! You've traveled across time and space and... different worlds." It's probably not a good idea to say that to someone who's just arrived, but he's a little tipsy. JD's sitting on a chair, enjoying a good appletini and playing with his stethoscope. It's fun to see how many speeds you can make your own heart beat go to. Whee!

"So how'd all that end up in the museum, then?"
He's not immediately inclined to take a tipsy guy's word for it. It does explain why he didn't hear anything about construction, though. And between Rebecca and the fact that exhibits in the habit of nocturnal sentience pay a lot more attention during the day than one might otherwise expect... he'd have found out.
Anyway, he's not sure what a natural history museum would do with a hotel.

"I don't really know. Wait, museum? We're in a hotel. A kind of hotel in between worlds and stuff." JD's sure of that much at least, he thinks. Did I really drink that many appletinis or am I always this confused? "I mean look, I was working in a hospital in California when I walked into a patient's room and bam, I'm here instead. It happens all the time! ... to lot's of different people."

...See, now he's mostly wondering whether the museum added anything to the Egyptian stuff recently. When in doubt, go with what you know.
"Okay, I'm used to a little weird on the job, but random hotels between worlds? Kind of a new one."

"Don't ask me. It appears in my building all the time, much to the annoyance of my staff."

A blonde man is on the couch with a smirk. "Although, I have a feeling that's not what you mean. Come on over. I hope I can try to explain."

Oh, saints above, Mark's giving the welcome speech.

"So it's not just the museum? That's... something." It'd be more comforting if he trusted the stuff to mind itself better.
But the guy's offering to explain (and he looks vaguely familiar, at that, but not enough for Larry to pin it down), and a welcome speech would really do the trick right now. So he heads over.

"Nope. It's not anywhere you think it is." Mark sighs, and waves a hand at the sofa. "You probably should sit down for this."

"This is the Inn. I... well, no one knows where the hell it is, but it's somewhere. It's nowhere that you think it is. Anyway, you get anything you want by thinking it up." Mark shrugs. "That's about it. Anyway, I'm Mark Cohen, and I make films, but I really don't think my entire production company could come up with this."

"You just think it up? Weird. At least it sounds like nobody charges you for that." That's a fairly mild reaction, compared to some, but after his job description, it's a little easier to stomach.
"Oh, and I'm Larry. ...You made anything particularly big? I don't get to the movies much, but I might've heard about it."
