A harvest moon rose out of the dream horizon

There's a large golden-furred dog out back, sniffing the grass underneath a sky that displays a full harvest moon.

It's obviously a dog, because really, who expects a wolf just... out here? It's not like the area behind the inn is the wilds of Alaska or anything.

It should be noted, though, that anyone trying to pet her might not come away with ( Read more... )

Allie is outside, getting away from the rather exuberant drag queen redecorating inside.

She lets out a long breath, and starts peeling off layers. She can't very well wear a parka and jacket in weather like this.

And, alone (so she thinks), she relaxes and smiles.

The dog lopes toward her, looping around casually behind her so she can get a look at her without yet being noticed. She doesn't have to get too close to study the girl's scent - there are some advantages to having four legs instead of two.

She doesn't notice the dog, but pulls a sketchbook and pen out from her large bag and opens it up.

She starts sketching some arbitrary scenery, but it's something to do. Relaxing.

As a human, she might have been interested in what the girl was drawing. Right now, though, she's more focused on the girl herself. Sight is not something that really preoccupies canines. Scents, on the other hand...

She's all dark blue in Angua's mental map of the landscape. A dark blue cloud drifting out from her that suddenly dominates the forefront of Angua's canine brain, which is largely controlled by her nose sometimes. The part of her that isn't, though, wonders what the girl's doing out here in the middle of the night.
