Angel took note of Mark's entrance. Hard to miss something like that. He knows something more than usual's up from all the bags, but doesn't ask until after Mark's attempt to film goes down the toilet; it's worse than it looked, if he can't even film. "Okay, honey, get over here and talk to me."
...That bad? Damn. "You're exactly who you want to be. Trust me, if you'd sold out, we would've called you on it." Mark's circle of friends is, after all, very good at picking up on that sort of thing.
"I'm not so sure." Mark sighs, flopping on the floor, and leaning against the wall. "I have more money than the rest of Alphabet City put together, I'm arguably the most famous person below fourteenth, and that includes all those stuffed shirts in the Towers, and what do I have to show for it? Some films. That's it."
Mark's still on the ground, face in his hands. Looking up, he sighs. "I just... I don't know, Sara. I just feel like I've sold out. I can't really put my finger on how or why, but it just feels wrong."
"....Mark, the fact that you're making a living doing what you love does not mean that you've sold out," Sara replies slowly, studying his face. "Otherwise, I've obviously sold out by accepting pay for what I do."
Her tone softens a bit. "What's really the issue here? You've been really quiet lately.
"Something like that. I feel like I've sold out, Mimi. I just.... I need something different, something that doesn't make me feel no different than glorified Holy Wood."

The voice comes from the vicinity of the floor.
It seems that Laura has mastered the art of crawling. She hasn't quite mastered the art of eluding her mother. Yet.
Sara looks up after she reaches her child. "Mark? Babe, what's on your mind?"
She's been worried.

This clearly means that there must be a Mimi.
"Director's block?"
