"Seems th' Inn has me comin' here from 1984 an' 1996. Haven't ever run into m'self, though."

"....that sounds. Uh. Confusing as all fuck."

"He means that you're dreadful at chess," Lily says serenely. "And I've been getting lessons from a World Champion. Checkmate. Hullo, James."

Sirius boggles.

"Hullo, Lils." He's safely out of swatting range and not exhibiting Tapioca-deserving behavior.

Josh slinks away, promising Lily a raincheck on their game.

"SOMEBODY's going to study," Lily says with amusement, and looks up at James. "Well, Potter? You feeling Gryffindor enough to take me on?"

"......she beat me," says Sirius. Pathetically. "How....she beat me."

Lily looks smug.
