And this would be where Regulus wanders up and eyes the newspaper.
"Bad news, or simply no news?" His money would be on the latter, since he's not sure the Prophet actually knows how to report bad news... but it never hurts to ask.

"There was a massacre of Muggleborns and their kin this weekend past," James says levelly, his eyes still on one of the papers, "yet the Ministry seems to be doing a remarkable ostrich impression. It is rather appalling."
