Not just any door obviously but The door.
The door he wasn't going to go through, not yet at least.
However, the whirring noise breaks his concentration, even if it's only for a moment to glance over his shoulder at the materializing TARDIS.
....The TARDIS?
He jumps to his feet and watches the door carefully, waiting until the Fifth has at least stepped into the Inn before racing to the Time Lord, his smile so wide it looked like it might hurt.
"Why hello there! Have a nice trip?" Cling! And no, he won't be letting go any time soon.

"Good trip, yes. Lovely to be back, though. How are you, hm?" Words are spoken into the older one's hair.
His heartsbeats are racing wildly and his mind is spinning.

Oh, he missed this, he missed this to an absolutely pathetic degree.
"Have any interesting adventures," he asks then. It strikes him that they must look rather silly just standing there, carrying on casual conversation and clinging to one another as if it's been years since they've heard from the other.
Not that he cares, of course.
