Carl's downstairs, looking for someone who knows Regulus.
Because Regulus has been in the computer lab for a solid week - without eating anything or stopping to sleep, as far as Carl can tell - and that's not normal for him. So he was hoping to find someone who could talk some sense into him

How about somebody who's related to Regulus? Will that do?

Not that Sirius is all that good at talking sense into anybody, but he at least knows what's going on. He's got a wand, rather like Regulus', too, and he's sitting at a table tapping an amulet with it and looking like Great Magical Workings are afoot.

That... will work very well, actually.
Carl's angling to avoid interrupting, but he hasn't seen Willow, and he's pretty sure the one other guy he's heard about isn't around. So this'll do, once Sirius reaches a point where he's not poking at the amulet.
"...Are you related to Regulus?"

Sirius looks up from his work, eying Carl somewhat suspiciously.

"He's my brother. Why?"

"Because he's been in the computer lab for the last week or so. Without leaving, far as I know, and I practically live in there. I don't know what's up, but it's starting to get worrying."
