Steve? Not exactly without worry about this.

And he doesn't even think about the fact that JD might not've talked to Ben yet, and might not know he's here, he just sits down, all earnest worry.

"What's wrong, what happened?"

Steve's afraid that something happened to April or the baby. Because it can't be Ben. Ben's... indestructible.

Jordan, the narration thinks, would be the best person to approach about this, at any rate.

"Whenever, only if you want to."

Beat.

"You want some... chocolate or something?"

It probably will be Jordan. Despite the awkward 'oh right we had sex before' vibes and the way she can immasculate him faster than Dr. Cox can, she's his best option He's only met Danni a couple of times, and he's only heard stories about their mother.

Scary stories. Like Godzilla.

JD makes a face and shakes his head. "No. Uhm, thanks. Thought of food right now kind of makes me nauseas."

Steve nods.

And sits there.

"I'm gonna stay here with you for a bit, okay?" he says softly. "Just in case you need anything."

"Okay." JD nods with a dark sigh as he stares into his glass again, looking more than a little lost.

"That's...- Thanks."

"No problem. It's what friends are for, right?"
