The door opens and, surprisingly, in walks Steve.

Steve, looking healthier than he's ever looked, and rather startled by the appearance of the Inn.

"Oh. Huh. This is... surprising and unexpected."

This is... so not Purgatory.

Angel wouldn't say what he's about to with just anyone. But he's good at assessing situations within a couple seconds. Besides, he's been through this one, if in a slightly different setting. (And with having to wait a bit before looking healthier.)
"Wait, don't tell me. Not the afterlife you were expecting?"

Well, if it were anyone else, he'd have to wait a bit. But this is Steve. And he's expecting Heaven (or at least Purgatory), and that he'd get, y'know, a new body and stuff. No more sick.

So he's healthy.

"Not in the least." He grins and bounces over to kiss Angel on the cheek. "How are you, chica?"

Yes, he calls Angel chica. He always has and probably always will.

Figures that optimistic streak (and the different pandimensional space, let's not forget) would serve him well.
"Pretty good. Collins gave me an... interesting Christmas present, let's call it. Gonna have to use it to surprise people."

"Oooo?" Steve plops down next to Angel and grins hopefully. "Do I get to know what it is?"

Ben has just come from Chase's room, which is why he's grinning like an idiot and probably looks a bit tired. He doesn't exactly do much sleeping in Chase's room.

And Steve looking so healthy practically makes him yelp with joy. He'd grin wider, but that's not really possible at this point.

Ben launches himself at the kid, wrapping him up in a tight hug. "Steve! It's you! And you look good!"

Steve makes a giddy, gleeful noise that might include laughing.

"Ben! It's you! And you look... well, tired, but in a good way."

Beat.

"OH MY GOD YOU'RE GETTING LAID!"

"HELL, yes, I am." Ben laughs and pulls away slowly, but keeps a hand on Steve's arm. Cause holy shit he'd thought that he was dead, but he's here, alive and being all giddy and gleeful. "Daily and nightly and... basically, all of the time. And it is fucking good. Lemme tell you."

[thteve]

"God, I remember that." He looks wistfully off into space. It's not a sad sort of wistful, though, amazingly - he's in too good a mood at being somewhere where he can see his friends.

The suddenly healthy body doesn't hurt.
