"Awww, you kids! All grown up and getting married!" Ben quirks a grin at them both, pulling April into a tight hug. "You're looking so beautiful today. The dress... it's so you."
He moves on to JD, hitting him in the arm lightly. "Not cool, man, you almost made me cry." Ben laughs and hugs him tight, with a muttered. "Jesus. Who'd have thought four months ago that we'd be here?"
JD can't answer him. He might start crying again, and he's told himself that he can't do that again today, but God, it's Ben.
"A few months ago, I would never have guessed that I'd ever..." JD says quietly, voice tight. "I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you. I know I wouldn't."
Ben can't find the words to respond, and they're both glad for that.
"I'm so happy for you." Ben pulls away, looking between them. "Both of you." He's grinning from ear to ear. "Congratulations!"
Cake with Ben is sure to be the best kind of cake, indeed! Chase wasn't sure the photographer would let him believe otherwise.
Accepting the cake, he nods, "It was, really. You should've seen it from our view, everything seemed perfect. You did a good job, too." He teases lightly, "I just hope I captured that well enough. I liked most of what I took, if that counts for anythin'."
"All I had to do was stand there." He takes a seat at the nearest open table, setting the photo box down next to the cake. "Here's a dilemma. Pictures, first? Or cake?"
Because pictures and cake don't go together unless you want a greasy mess!
Pictures and cake can indeed go together, unless you're not careful, of course. But he could see where there could be a dilemma indeed!
"Hm, cake, probably. Because knowing you, you'll abandon the pictures for cake and make a mess anyway." It's teasing of course, "And pictures last longer."
He's not sure he's making sense, but he doesn't care. He's happy right now.
Chase nudges him in return, his smile gaining a playful appearance to it.
He takes a bite of his own and nods, "It is good cake. S'been forever since I've had some." It's when he gets icing on one finger that he merely smirks up and Ben and presses a bit of it to the tip of the man's nose.
It's childish, but it's not as though Chase really minds at this point.
"Same here. Last time I went to a wedding it was my sister's, that was God nearly ten years ago." He makes a face as he eats his cake. "I feel old."
Ben looks up at Chase again when the icing's put on his nose, smiling and flicking it off his nose in a move that looks like a comical exaggerated version of Dr. Cox's pissed nose-flick.
"Oh, you don't want to play with me." He tilts the top of his paper plate up toward the Australian, with a smirk. "I'm not afraid to play dirty."
"If it's any consolation, y'don't look it." Chase teases and takes another bite of the cake, the smirk never really leaving his lips.
Seeing the nose-flick makes him only shake his head, "I know you're not, but would you waste perfectly good cake on me?" There's a playful nudge given with his foot again before he returns to his own cake.
"Somehow, that doesn't seem like you at all." Ah, the smirk.
"It doesn't? Really...?" Ben leans in toward Chase with the plate of wedding cake tilted in his hand as he wraps his leg around Chase's. "There's a whole wedding cake over there. Somehow I think smushing this on your face wouldn't be a waste at all."
Chase shifts about in his seat as Ben leans forward, because something tells him that cake will become far too close for comfort soon enough. He reaches one hand out to gently hold the other's cake-loaded-hand back.
He leans in a little himself now, "Be aware that if you do that, it will be an all out war." Well, probably not, as Chase will be wanting the cake off of him, but it's possible. Maybe.
Oh, he hadn't expected it, even though he really, really should have. He backs away the moment the plate comes for him, but he's covered with cake, anyway.
Wrinkling his nose and using the back of his hand to wipe cake away from his eyes, the Aussie picks up his own plate and smushes it into Ben's face as well, even if it might take some struggling.
"We're even." They have to look ridiculous -- like children at a wedding, not adults.

"You're right! Cake first, pictures second." He takes a bite. "And that is one damn good cake."

"I'm aware," He says, and uses his other hand to reach over and push the plate of cake into Chase's face with a satisfied smoosh sound.
Ben pushes it around to make sure that the cake gets all over and then pulls the plate away, laughing.

Ben giggles (yes, giggles, he knows it's not manly, but damnit he can't help it), wiping two spots for his eyes as well.
He looks left to right, and then leans in toward Chase with a very secretive whisper. "Hey, let's go get the bride and groom!"

At the secretive whisper, Chase looks at Ben a little skeptically before shrugging. Why the hell not, he figures. "Yes, let's."
Surely, they've lost it.

"To the cake!" He declares and heads toward it.
Sure, they're in the Inn and could think up pieces, but Ben wants pieces from the wedding cake for the bride and groom.
If this ends up in a cake fight during the reception... so be it!

Oh boys.
Just don't make her start a food fight. She'll kick your asses.
