This is Larry backing through the front door, in the middle of talking to someone - or, knowing his job, poassibly something - and then brightening a bit when he notices where he is.
It takes a couple seconds before he realizes what happened to his clothes. (Fortunately, the door's shut by that point.)

"I really don't think that Hathor would appreciate you saying that about her reproductive organs." A man in a kilt is sitting cross-legged on the floor with papyrus and a pen.

Looking up, he raises an eyebrow. "You are dressed quite strangely, sir. Even for this place."

Larry sighs. "The clothes totally weren't my idea. I'm not sure whose it was, or why they'd go to so much trouble."
If he thinks to get a local calendar, it'll make a lot more sense. But when he's at home, it's very nearly New Year's. Not costume season at all.

"This is a strange place." He sits up slightly, putting the papyrus aside. "I do not understand quite a few things about the occupants of this place still." His speech patterns are strange, almost musical.

"So... your outfit's intentional, then?"
He's not terribly familiar with non-royal Egyptian stuff. He'll probably put the pieces together in a minute, though.
