A new arrival.

Aeryn braces herself, but the water is colder than she could have expected, colder than anything she's felt before. She struggles, but she's still strapped into the seat of her Prowler, and the weight is too much for her, so she sinks. Soon, the pain begins to melt away, and it's easier to give in to the new feelings of warmth, light, and ( Read more... )

A blonde man looks up from the close scrutiny of a machine, which, to someone from another time and another place would be easily recognizable as a film camera. He blinks a couple times, then speaks up. "You probably won't need that gun. It's not that scary around here."

Aeryn looks at the man, warily, moving her hand away from the gun. If worst came to worst, she wouldn't need it, and he doesn't look particularly threatening anyway. She's not likely to relax at the moment, especially with the presence of the unfamiliar machine. "Where the frell is 'here'?"

"It's an Inn, in, um.... somewhere." Mark shrugs. "No one knows much about it, except that if you think things up, they'll appear. Um. I swear it's not that bad." Most of the time.

An Inn - well, that was unexpected. "Why have I been brought here?" To Aeryn, strange equals dangerous, and she hates not knowing what's going on.

Pilots of the world, unite!

Not that Wash and Aeryn have much in common. Certainly not wardrobe.

(She'd get on great with Zoe, though.)

But Wash is the kind of person who'll talk to just about anyone, so when he sees Aeryn, looking dazed and packing heat, he gets up and approaches her, looking about as dangerous as dryer lint.

"Uh, hi. You all right?"

Aeryn takes a step back, ready to defend herself. Of course, he doesn't look threatening, and she's not going to leave herself open for attack. "I'm fine," she says, in a less-than-pleasant tone.

"Woah."

Wash backs up a bit, raising his hands in a gesture of surrender.

"Hey, easy, I'm not gonna try anything. I'm not exactly combat-ready, and besides, you can't hurt people here. Whoever's in charge won't allow it."

She does similar, to show that she's not going for the gun, but it's the only movement she makes. She's not sure she quite believes him - the concept of a place where violence isn't allowed is foreign to her - but she's certainly not going to test that theory. "You could be working for Scorpius." Though why Scorpius would bring her here, especially as she was going to die, she didn't know.
