Quin frowned at the card when Bat read it to him. "Why is teaches how to play? I know how play. I run, and frow a ball, and lots of things."

Then she helped him with the package. "What dis? Dis haves a horsey. And lots of mans. Untle Won will teach me about to play wif mans?"

"Uncle Ron means that he'll teach you how to play this game," she said. "This is a big people game so you'll need Uncle Ron to show you how to play, though you won't really be able to play for several more years."

"It's a chess set," she explained. "Chess is a game that Uncle Ron can play really, really well, and he'll be able to teach you how to play as well as he does. Do you want to send Uncle Ron a thank you owl?"

"Kay. It say, thank you for wizad tess set. I don't know how to play wif it. I will learn wif the little mans."

He clapped his hands all at once. There were lots of little mans to play with. "It very many mans and also horsey."

He looked up. "Is good?"
