I figured I would explain a nuance, and bit of my general approach to recent discussions and why I hold this view. I dislike it, and think it is a very bad idea, when labor negotiations there is too strong a focus on comparing what the other party has to yourself, or to their peers. (note: both ways)

The Oklahoma House has passed a bill that would basically outlaw non-emergency (my term) abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy on the basis that by then the child can feel pain. I know I've got folks on both sides of the abortion issue - what think you of this as a dividing line?

I used The Ladders website to get a $100K job. . . but then got fired for sexual harassment.... they told me what I was supposed to do, what did I do wrong?

So I am having my first glass of absinthe. Interesting -- slightly watery taste (it's cut with water and sugar), some anise overtones, okay tasting - but an excellent finish that is quite nice. Enjoyable.

I'm not quite sure what to make of this election - at least in terms of how it will play out. I think the off-term election is a dangerous one for the party not in the White House. You can be elected as opposition to what is going on in Washington (think 1994), but if you overplay your hand, you can end up creating back up sympathy for the ( Read more... )
