I just read 7/8 of Where The Heart is. The first 8th I started last week. I couldn't put it down for more than 10 minutes. I read from 4pm to 1:23am. Luckily, I only remembered small tidbits of the movie... just enough to easily put faces with the names of the main characters. I never used to love reading. that movie and "divine sisters of the yaya sisterhood" are why i love ashley judd so much. natalie portman was good too, though.

now that you mention it ashley judd tends to choose really good scripts.

actually, i wasnt terribly fond of the movie.

and i hate to say it... but i never saw YaYa

does this mean im not a real southern woman?

I would read YaYa sisterhood. But don't bother with the movie. it wasn't all that great. I liked Where the Heart Is because of natalie and ashley.

It's funny how there's kind of a southern women's literary canon.
Steel Magnolias, Fried Green Tomatoes, Gone With The Wind, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Color Purple, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Divine Secrets of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood, etc. There's more, I'm sure. I think if you have read and/or seen at least three of that list you are allowed to retain your southern woman membership card. Of course, you're getting southern points for attending Auburn.
