It might seem a bit contrived at times, but that's the beauty of fiction, you can play with stuff. I like it personally.
I like it too but something it just seems like everything thinks just is SOOO important to the cause. And while he is up there I don't think he's such a vital part like everyone thinks.

1. I kind of agree. I mean Jamie would have been upset and I think not telling him and getting the information was definitely a help but at the same time... the honesty issue. Especially since after the King, Jamie really wanted honesty from her, yet he doesn't really bring that up later on. I don't know. I think her telling might have caused some tension between Jamie and her. He wouldn't want her to do it and you know she just would have anyway.

2. Family connections:
Randall’s relationship with his brother Alex?Yes, that is true. His relationship to Alex makes him more human rather than some evil creature preying on others. But then you can't get past all the horrible things he's done or that he likes rubbing them in people's ( ... )

"It does but you get the impression that Jamie not taking any bull from him or Young Simon really impresses the Old Fox. I doubt he hates him but he's not one for suck ups. I think he has some respect for Jamie by the end of their association. Claire too."

I agree. It does seem Jamie garners respect in the end. He seems to do that a lot. :)

8. "Me too. I don't really see it as Poor Jamie though. I can't decide if Jamie would think it is something he has to do reluctantly. I think he really views anyone who harms those he loves as fair game. I don't know why I really like this aspect of Jamie. Might be a protection thing."

I like that protection thing too and yes, I do believe he sees it as his right to protect them.

10. I know the poor man has to endure so much. I don't really see how he kept from harming him in some way. The man is a prince!

11. I do think that Dougal went a little daft from hunger or fatigue. Maybe that played into the fact that he didn't really hear the conversation. Because they were talking about trying to stop a slaughter and decided there was nothing to be done. I hate that it happened but it was self-defense ( ... )

12. LOL more Janeway headache thinking, but I love it!

14. I don't think I've ever disliked Brianna, just thought she was acting like a brat at times and like you said have the desire to slap her or shake her, but then I have that same reaction with Claire and Jamie too. And I think she grows on you too as you read more, besides she so Jamie that you can't help but like that part of her in the end.

15. Heehee. Well, your imagination suits mine so I can sort of see it too, but then you'd think she'd catch a glimpse of the engraving in the light at some point in twenty years.

16. I think I just kept thinking that she wanted him to know because of the reverend who would have wanted to know.

12. Yeah headache thing.

14. Yeah, I don't understand the dislike of her coming off some fans. Very true. I love the part of her that is Jamie.

15. Maybe. I don't know. I always picture it as a little bit of a panic issue like when Frank tried to take the ring. So I could see her just grabbing it and putting it on but you know you would think the engraving would come up somewhere along the line but it was a nice touch that it didn't.

16. So true.
